    Style Points

In the game Devil May Cry, the hero Dante must not only defeat the forces of evil, but also do it with style.
The higher the style in the game, the more Red Orbs you got when defeating. I decided to create my own little version of it in game.

Each time you perform an attack, style points are added. If you get hit, you lose style points.
Repeating the same action and action over and over will decrease the number of style points you collect per attack.
That said, you should mix it up a bit. Don't attack with your fists every round. This is boring.
Use a technique instead, attack with melee attacks, switch weapons and attack with the new weapon, taunt the monster, etc.
Another way to increase your style points is to to kill a monster/boss. Killing a monster increases your style points significantly.

If you're asking why you should even care about style points, it's because when a monster dies, the style of the person killing it , which adds a bonus to the number of Red Orbs it gains at the end of the fight. The higher the style, the more bonus you get at the end.
Also, in boss fights, the person who ends up with the highest style points usually gets a bonus item.
